Narvik had a privately run, amateur dance activity that probably already existed in the interwar period. After the war, Gunvor Bjørhus founded Narvik Dance Institute in 1946, also referred to as Bjørhus ballet, which ran ballet lessons for “little girls” and “young women”, as well as recreational ballroom dancing.
